Why I’ve Been Silent

11/06/2024

Everyone who knows me knows I’m never quiet, and if I am, it’s not for long. So, what has kept me quiet, and why haven’t I been seen on social media?

As most people are aware, my mum and I went on holiday to Benidorm, Spain, on 29th April 2024, for ten nights. We had a brilliant time. However, when we flew back to Manchester, my mum tried to wake me up as we landed, but she was unsuccessful because I was unconscious when we landed.

The plane was met by emergency medical services on the runway, and I was rushed in a life-or-death situation to the nearest hospital, approximately 10 minutes from Manchester Airport.

It turned out that what I had was a deadly case of pneumonia. It was so serious that they took me to the acute intensive care unit, where I had two nurses monitoring me 24/7. I had to keep an oxygen mask on at all times and was on intravenous antibiotics. At one point, I had four fluids going into me intravenously, including three different antibiotics and liquids because I was dehydrated from the illness.

I was in the hospital for some time and still don’t feel fully over it, so of course there will be more silence as I try to kick the illness’s arse and beat it.

I thought I would let you all know why I have been so silent lately. I hope you are all well and are staying safe.
