I’ve learnt since qualifying in Mental Health that anything can brew up inside anyone, but to keep it under control and even improve your Mental Health you need to in time talk because most people bottle Mental Health up and don’t speak about it, especially men.
Most men won’t open up about their Mental Health or most health issues really but the main factor in men not opening up about their Mental Health is because there is this stigma, that if you open up, your a wimp, an attention seeker, more men end up with more Mental disabilities and ultimately more suicides because these men see no other way out of their torment, and nothing and nobody can quite torment them like they can themselves.
Ultimately the goal is to give less judgement and do more talking.
It sounds easy saying do more talking but when your a closed book and have been for many weeks, months or even years, talking to someone isn’t so easy but I say do more talking because talking is a therapeutic solution that goes at your pace and you open up at your own pace, talking isn’t something you’ve got to be referred for and wait on waiting lists for, and this is true with women too
Talking is something that can start as soon as you’re ready and where you can truly go at your own speed.
With talking, there has always got to be someone that starts the conversation, and most of the time, it isn’t the person struggling with Mental Health regardless of gender, age, race or religion.
Mental Health doesn’t discriminate, anyone can have Mental Health issues at any point.
I’m always here and I’m here to be an ear for you, for as long as you please
